The below is a position with ASPEQ Heating Group. ASPEQ Heating Group is a marketplace leader in innovative electric heating solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial markets.

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

As a Machine Operator, you will set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic parts.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

  • Design and/or develop tools, jigs, and fixtures used in production.
  • Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
  • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
  • Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls or control media as required.
  • Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
  • Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
  • Fit and assemble parts into complete assembly.
  • Verify dimensions and alignment of assembly.
  • Install machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and test operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
  • Operate welding equipment to cut or weld parts.
  • Develop specifications from general description and draw sketch of part or product to be fabricated.
  • Confer with engineers, production personnel, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

Required Experience

  • One to three months related experience and/or training.

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • A fully qualified Machinist will have completed, including passing a written test, and satisfactory completion of at least eight terms of machinist courses at an accredited technical school.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
