Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Asheville, NC is seeking a qualified Machine Operator I on 2nd shift (M-Th, 4:15 PM–2:45 AM). You will operate a variety of production machines, train on the job to certify in multiple auxiliary equipment groups, and perform routine operations on a blade and vane production line with strict quality checks.

This role requires a High School Diploma or GED, U.S. citizenship, and prior manufacturing experience or related training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED required.
• U.S. citizenship required for access to program/contract information.
• Previous manufacturing experience or related education or advanced manufacturing certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of production machines on the shift.
• Train on the job to become proficient and certified in multiple auxiliary equipment groups (e.g., Bake/Grit; PHT; Pinhole Check; Surface Roughness Analyzer).
• Perform routine operations on the production line and conduct quality checks on blades and vanes.
• Work on the production line with overtime as needed; adhere to standard work instructions and 5S practices.
• Clock labor in Solumina and perform daily TPM; keep workspace clean and organized.

This is a 2nd Shift position: M-TH, 415pm to 245am.

What You Will Do:

• Machine Operator 1 - Ability to operate a variety of production machines.
• Train on the job to become proficient and certified in performing the operations in at least 2 auxiliary equipment standard work groups, e.g., Bake/Grit; PHT; Pinhole Check and Surface Roughness Analyzer.
• This position will require performing routine operations.
• Working on the production line you will produce blades and or vanes as well as perform all quality checks.
• These positions require shift work and ability to work overtime when needed.
• Perform daily standard work and perform complex operations successfully and adhere to standard work and all work instructions while performing tasks.
• Clock labor in Solumina, perform Daily Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) and document results.
• Keep equipment and work area clean (5S).
• May be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this position in support of department objectives and to develop one's skills - Responsibilities are not limited to the listed items above and can be changed or modified based on skill level, proficiency, and overall performance.
