Job summary

Pratt Whitney is seeking an onsite manufacturing operator to run production machinery and produce blades and vanes. You will perform routine operations, read process sheets, and ensure quality checks throughout the line.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and U.S. citizenship; manufacturing experience or related certification is preferred. Excellent 5S discipline and teamwork are expected.

Role Details

This position is classified as Onsite. Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

What You Will Do

• Operate a variety of production machines including washer, shot peen (GASP – gravity accelerated shot peen), furnace, water & air flow, electrode assembly, laser weld, tack weld, laser ablation, tape & wax, x-ray, bake and detailer, etc.
• Perform routine operations on the production line to produce blades and/or vanes and all quality checks.
• Produce as required for the production line; shift work and overtime when needed.
• Read and interpret process sheets, gage, deburr and clean parts, make minor offset changes (if required), change set ups and document information on check sheets, keep dimensional data on run charts, frequently utilize measuring devices and assess product acceptance based on blueprint specification(s).
• Run all equipment in the entire work loop and produce product per standard work.
• Clock labor in Solumina, perform Daily Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) and document results.
• Keep equipment and work area clean (5S).
• Frequent movement about the machine line to operate various manufacturing equipment (~90% of the time), bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, transporting product and/or equipment weighing up to 10 pounds.
• May be required to carry out additional tasks not specifically listed, within scope and skill level of position in support of department objectives and to develop one’s skills.
