Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) is seeking a Machine Operator 1 in Wilkes-Barre, PA to support production of precision components. The role focuses on operating production equipment, following instructions, ensuring quality and safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED and be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and safely use measurement tools and PPE.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to operate production equipment with training.
• Ability to use standard measurement equipment.
• Ability to qualify for and operate a forklift.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• Stand for long periods.
• Wear PPE and follow safety guidelines.
• Regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.

Responsibilities

• Operates production equipment to produce products in accordance with requirements including quality and output following verbal and written instructions.
• Completes equipment adjustments and tooling changes to maintain compliance with specifications and quality procedures.
• Inspects parts and documents findings on appropriate paperwork as needed.
• Records length of time and quality of materials used for each job.
• Maintains work areas in a clean, orderly, and safe manner to include returning tools to designated areas.
• Adheres to established policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations and notifies management of product discrepancies, equipment malfunctions and/or personal injuries.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
