Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is seeking a Machine Operator 1 to join the Wilkes-Barre (US-PA) team. You will operate production equipment, perform adjustments, and ensure quality and safety across shifts.

With a High School Diploma or GED, you will handle measurement tasks, lift up to 50 pounds, wear PPE, and move within GD-OTS facilities as part of a high‑performing manufacturing group in a Full Time role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Operate various production equipment with training.
• Use standard measurement equipment.
• Forklift qualification required.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• Stand for long periods during shifts.
• Wear PPE per training guidelines.
• Regular movement within facilities.

Responsibilities

• Operates production equipment to produce products in accordance with requirements including quality and output following verbal and written instructions.
• Completes equipment adjustments and tooling changes to maintain compliance with specifications and quality procedures.
• Inspects parts and documents findings on appropriate paperwork as needed.
• Records length of time and quality of materials used for each job.
• Maintains work areas in a clean, orderly, and safe manner to include returning tools to designated areas.
• Adheres to established policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations and notifies management of product discrepancies, equipment malfunctions and/or personal injuries.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
