Job Summary

Sets up and operates automatic or semi‑automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation. Monitors meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications. Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

  • Supervises the daily activities of support staff or production team members. Does not typically perform the work supervised.
  • Must have one direct report or more.
  • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors.
  • Problem solving is guided by policies and procedures; receives guidance and oversight from manager.
  • Consistent exercise of discretion & judgement.
Essential Functions
  • Manages production operations for assigned units or during an assigned shift.
  • Supervises workers that operate production machinery, assemble items, perform quality control, or package goods for shipment.
  • Notifies maintenance or engineering departments when equipment requires maintenance or repair.
  • Monitors output of assigned area(s) against established schedules or quality goals. Coordinates the flow of work through the department and ensures that the department has sufficient levels of inventory to meet demand and is staffed appropriately.
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has some responsibility for personnel actions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions with concurrence from the HR Directors & General Managers.
Required Qualifications
  • Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience OR equivalent combination of relevant education & or experience.
  • Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree.
  • Discipline/Major: Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations or Business degree preferred.
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Ability to work as part of a team; decision-making skills; problem/situation analysis; project management skills; planning skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work primarily in a climate‑controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
  • May be requested to work a different shift.
  • This position is Safety‑Sensitive.
Travel Requirements

Up to 25% travel likely.
