Job summary

Total Talent Solutions in Wytheville, VA is seeking a Machine Operator to operate compression presses, monitor quality, and load materials for curing in a fast-paced, safety‑driven environment.

This position offers $18.50 per hour, Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM with overtime as needed; training on days for two weeks. HS diploma or GED preferred; experience in manufacturing is a plus, with comprehensive benefits and weekly pay.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Technical training or manufacturing education is beneficial.
  • Previous machine operation or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, safety regulations, and inspection standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate compression presses to produce molded rubber parts.
  • Spray molds with lubricant as required.
  • Assemble and weigh preps according to molding specifications.
  • Load materials into molds and begin cure cycles.
  • Unload cured parts from presses.
  • Inspect molded parts for defects according to quality standards.
  • Trim, inspect, and package finished products.
  • Complete production and quality reports accurately.
  • Operate multiple presses and processes as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures and standard operating instructions.

$18.50 per hour

Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Technical training or manufacturing education is beneficial.
Experience Requirements
  • Previous machine operation or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, safety regulations, and inspection standards
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to read measurements using a standard ruler to 1/8 inch
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment test
Job Duties
  • Operate compression presses to produce molded rubber parts

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous machine operation, manufacturing, production, or industrial experience is preferred.
  • Experience performing machine setup, tooling changes, troubleshooting, or preventative maintenance is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, quality systems, or continuous improvement practices is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate mechanical ability, reliability, teamwork, and a commitment to quality are well positioned for success as a Machine Operator.
Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment while maintaining awareness of moving machinery.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and work safely in a manufacturing environment.
