Simpson Strong-Tie Company Inc. is seeking a dedicated Machine Operator in West Chicago, IL to set up, run, and maintain autofill lines with a focus on quality and safety. The role involves packing, labeling, and documenting output, while ensuring materials are ready to meet production plans.
Shifts run 6:00 am–4:30 pm with overtime as needed. Candidates should have a GED, a valid IL driver’s license, PIT certification, and at least 1 year of related experience. Remote work is not available.

As a Machine Operator you are responsible for operating the assigned machinery, ensuring it runs smoothly, works at capacity without issue, and is appropriately maintained to ensure quality products. You will often be assigned to an autofill team to run an autofill line safely, efficiently, and cohesively to ensure product meets quality standards. You will be responsible for collaborating to ensure all raw materials and components are available to meet production plans and ensure all customer demands are met with a focus on quality and safety practices. This position works a 10 hr shift: Monday-Thursday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, with overtime as needed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk, and hear. This role operates large equipment and needs to constantly position self to maintain the operation of equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.
The job may risk exposure to heat and/or cold, wet, or humid conditions, fumes and/or noxious odors, toxic/caustic chemicals, dust, loud noise levels and moving mechanical parts.
This position requires domestic and international travel up to 5% of the time.
This full-time position is in West Chicago, IL.
Relocation is not available for this position.
$20.91 - $31.39 / hour
