Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial in Owego, NY is hiring a Machine Operator on a weekend shift to support precision manufacturing of aerospace components. You will operate light- to medium-duty machines, set up equipment, and maintain safe, clean working conditions.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, quality control, and collaboration with the team to meet tight tolerances and production goals. Prior machining experience and ability to read specs are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate light-duty bench and floor-type machine tools and equipment.
• Work with machinery such as small lathes, power mills, extruding machines, drills and punch presses, power brakes, shears and saws.
• Set up machines and make necessary operational adjustments.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Inspect finished work using gauges, jigs, fixtures, and precision measuring tools.
• Verify products meet close-tolerance specifications and quality standards.
• Operate and monitor numerically controlled machinery when applicable.
• Follow SPC and quality control procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Collaborate with team members to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Schedule: Weekend Shift | Thursday - Sunday | 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• Pay Rate: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
• Job Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Assignment

What You'll Do

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous machine operation or manufacturing experience
• Experience working with CNC or numerically controlled equipment
• Familiarity with aerospace, aviation, or precision manufacturing environments
• Experience inspecting parts using gauges, jigs, fixtures, or precision measurement tools
• Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and quality assurance procedures

Pay Details: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour
