Egger Steel Company, a leading structural steel fabricator in the Upper Midwest for over 80 years, seeks a skilled machine operator to join our Sioux Falls, SD shop. Our schedule is 6:00AM-4:30PM Monday through Thursday, 6:00AM-3:30PM Friday, with a 6:00AM-12:00PM Saturday option, and wages are competitive with advancement opportunities.

As part of our shop team, you will read blueprints, set up and run equipment, perform basic troubleshooting, and contribute to continuous process improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience as a machine operator or in a manufacturing role.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Basic math and measurement skills.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints to set machine parameters.
• Set up, operate, and maintain equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and report complex problems.
• Accurately use a tape measure.
• Collaborate with team in a safety-focused environment.
• Seek opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
• Pre-employment drug testing and background check.
• Shop physical required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a machine operator or similar manufacturing role

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints to determine machine settings and production specifications
• Set up, operate, and maintain equipment independently
• Conduct basic troubleshooting of mechanical issues and report complex problems to maintenance or supervision
• Accurately use a tape measure with speed and precision
• Work collaboratively with others in a team-oriented environment
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency
• Pre-employment drug testing
• Background check
• Shop physical
