MW Industries, Inc. in Santa Maria, CA is seeking a Machine Operator to set up and run production machines using computer-controlled equipment, adjust settings, and follow procedures to deliver parts on time.

You will work a 4x10 schedule Mon-Thu with day and night shifts, maintain a safe, clean workspace, perform routine maintenance, read work orders, and ensure quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in manufacturing and quality control methods favored (ISO9001, AS9100).
• Must communicate fluently in English, written and verbal.
• MS Office and ERP systems familiarity is preferred.
• Ability to read work orders and measurement instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe work environment by following standards and procedures.
• Operate various machines within the cell.
• Maintains a clean machine and organized work area.
• Performs basic daily and preventative maintenance and checks on machines.
• Meets daily production schedules by following procedures.
• Adaptable to cell and team concepts as well as cross-training.
• Sees that all safety guards are in place and in good condition.
• Inspects work in progress using equipment necessary and outlined in work instructions.
• Takes ownership and responsibility for quality of work.
• All other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

The Machine Operator Sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Uses computer-controlled equipment to select, position and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines. Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete simple tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion.

• Performs basic daily and preventative maintenance and checks on machines
• Meets daily production schedules by following procedures

• All other duties as assigned

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Experience in manufacturing and quality control methods (ISO9001, AS9100 etc.) highly desired
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English, both written and verbal
• Computer skills (MS Office) and experience in ERP systems preferred
• Ability to read and follow work orders, set up data sheets, and measurement instructions
• Capable of using hand tools and general inspection tools effectively
• Detail oriented with good time management and organization skills
• Proficient in basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining processes
• Capable of using measuring instruments, i.e. micrometer, calipers, height gauge, etc.
• Good attitude, eager to learn and be a team player
• Must be able to stand, stoop and lift to 40-50lbs
