Job summary

ALPLA is seeking a dedicated line operator to handle end-to-end production from line start to packaging at our Missouri facility. You will monitor machines, perform parison controls, and maintain quality throughout shifts to meet specified standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma with basic computer skills and a mechanical aptitude, plus the ability to work in a team and maintain housekeeping on the line.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Technical/mechanical background in plastics industry preferred.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Demonstrated mechanical ability is required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee line from production to packaging.
  • Start/Stop the machine.
  • Perform parison controls.
  • Monitor material control (weight distribution, regrind levels, watch tail lengths).
  • Perform regular quality checks throughout the shift.
  • Prepare machine for mold change.
  • Ensure goods are produced in correct quantity and according to specs.
  • Accurately records goods produced and issues during shift.
  • Line clearance and autonomous maintenance activities.
  • Assist with mold/color changes as needed.
  • Maintain good housekeeping around the machine and department.

WHAT YOU WILL ENJOY DOING
  • Overall line responsibility from production to packaging
    • Start / Stop the machine
    • Performs parison controls
    • Monitor Material control (weight distribution, regrind levels, watch tail lengths, etc)
    • Performs regular quality control throughout the shift and visual quality checks
    • Prepare machine for mold change
    • Ensure goods are produced in correct quantity and in accordance with agreed specifications
    • Accurately records goods produced, and problems encountered during shift

  • Assists Machine Operator II/Shift Supervisor/Mold Change Team with mold/color changes as needed
