Job summary

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a 2nd shift Machine Operator in the Fiber department at our Russellville, Kentucky manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for the safe operation of a specific piece of equipment used to manufacture components and finished products for internal and external customers as defined by a daily production schedule.

This position works in a normal production/maintenance environment with exposure to temperature changes and loud noise. Carpenter Co.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to use computerized equipment.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Read and complete the labeling process.
• Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe working environment.
• Operate the machinery proficiently according to customer specifications and the daily production schedule.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure product meets all specifications.
• Monitor the equipment to minimize downtime.
• Input pertinent data into the SAP system.
• Must be forklift certified.
• Must be able to make machine adjustments when necessary.
• Assist with inventory.

As the successful candidate, you will be expected tomaintain daily communications with Department Managerand other employees in the department to ensure the needs of all internal and external customers as outline by the production schedule are met.

Your additional responsibilities as a Machine Operator will include:
