Job summary

Wastequip is seeking an experienced Industrial Band Saw operator for the Mount Sterling facility in Kentucky. You will set up and run a mid-sized band saw to cut steel tube, aluminum/steel flat bar, and plastics for the machining department.

Responsibilities include blade changes, part handling, and quality checks per blueprint. The role requires 1–2 years of saw operation, ability to read prints, and teamwork with overtime when needed.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years operating and setting up a band saw.
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring devices.
• Must work well in a team and on overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the mid-sized band saw to cut steel tube and aluminum/steel flat bar.
• Unload, stack parts, and discard unusable ends.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspection using calipers or tape measure.
• Clean machine, check coolant and hydraulic oil levels, and perform basic maintenance.
• Complete production paperwork and follow supervisor directions.
• Collaborate with the manufacturing team to maintain quality and efficiency.

Job Description:WQ Mount Sterling is looking for an experienced Industrial Band Saw operator. You will be joining a skilled manufacturing Team working in the Garbage Truck/Container industry. This role will involve setting up and operating our Mid-Sized Band Saw we use to cut Steel Tube, Aluminum/Steel Flat Bar as well as several different Plastics for our machining department. You will be responsible for changing blades on the machine, ensuring quality and efficiency throughout the machining process.Hourly Pay: $22.75/hr + $2/hr shift differential for being on 2ndKey ResponsibilitiesSaw Operation: Sets up machine by retrieving the correct material the print has called for then cutting to the specified lengths.Material Handling: Unloads parts as they are cut and stacks onto pallets as well as recording and scraping out ends that are unusable.
