Job summary

Service Wire Company, a premier supplier of industrial and utility wire and cable, seeks a Machine Operator in Phoenix, AZ. You will set up production machines, operate them, monitor wire quality, and record fabrication data to ensure defect-free products per regulations and specs.

Responsibilities include moving materials with a forklift, performing lubrication and maintenance, and maintaining safety standards in a fast-paced facility. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent training/experience.
• Strong basic math and measuring skills.
• Ability to read and follow general instructions and written directions.
• Works well with others in the manufacturing team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up production machines by positioning payoff, feeder and take-up.
• Operate machinery and adjust production controls to specifications.
• Monitor wire quality and the finished product during production.
• Perform routine lubrication and minor preventative maintenance.
• Observe operation and report equipment malfunctions immediately.
• Record detailed daily production data.
• Maintain safety standards and clean work environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job description

Service Wire Company, a premier supplier of industrial and utility wire and cable, is currently seeking a Machine Operator in Phoenix, AZ. If you are looking to join a great organization and a chance to become a part of our growing team, this may be the opportunity for you!

Our Machine Operators perform preparation setup of production machine(s). They also operate manufacturing machinery, monitor wire quality, and record fabrication data to ensure defect-free products as defined by industry regulations and customer specifications. Additionally, they transport wire and materials throughout facility on a forklift.

Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities:

• Prepare and setup machine for production by positioning the payoff, feeder, and take-up
• Operate the machinery by adjusting and maintaining production controls according to specifications
• Monitor the quality of wire during production and the finished product
• Perform routine lubrication of machinery parts and minor preventative maintenance
• Observe machine operation for equipment malfunction and report immediately
• Record detailed daily production data
• Maintain safety standards and clean work environment
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor

Knowledge/Skills/Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED (General Equivalency Diploma) or one year related industrial experience or equivalent training
• Demonstrate strong basic math and measuring skills
• Ability to read, comprehend, and respond to general instructions, direction, and correspondence, both oral and written
• Cooperatively works and interacts with members of the manufacturing department and other company employees
• Must be able to work in hot and cold environments without climate-control.
• In-person attendance is an essential function of the job

Schedule:

- 1st Shift - 7am - 3:30pm
- 2nd Shift - 3pm - 11:30pm
- 3rd Shift - 11pm - 7:30am
