3rd SHIFT MACHINE OPERATOR JOB DESCRIPTION
Hours 11 pm - 7 am
Mission of the Role (What you will be doing)
The SupplyOne Plastics Machine Operator reports to the Shift Supervisor. This role requires the ability to produce quality trays while operating in-line and cut-in-place thermoforming machines. The ability to help train other machine operators. Take responsibility for the shift in the absence of the shift supervisor.
Key Duties & Accountabilities (Primary responsibilities & quantifiable measurements)
- Ensure all production employees are following company policies and procedures.
PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is properly being used.
QC Checks are being performed properly by all Operators.
Ensure all Operators and Packers are following all quality instructions on the QA Notation Sheet for each production job.
- Operate in-line and cut-in-place thermoforming machines.
- Place rolls on machines as needed.
- Perform roll changes on machines.
- Remove scrap rolls from machine and place in baler area.
- Enter rolls in Amtech.
- Weigh roll at the end of production run, adjust in Amtech and on manufacturing log (material usage log) then print a new ticket for remaining weight.
- Adjust cartons and bags in Amtech at end of production run & end of shift, print new load ticket for remaining cartons and bags.
- Mark cartons with or without bags, and number cartons in sequential order w/carton # & cycle count.
- Perform quality inspections of plastic trays being produced (both hourly & 15 minute checks) to ensure quality trays are being produced.
- Complete In-Process Inspection paperwork (both hourly & 15 minute checks) to ensure quality trays are being produced.
• Complete In-Process Inspection paperwork (both hourly & 15-minute checks).
• Complete Final Inspection questions in Amtech at the end of production run.
- Complete daily Audit & Pre-Shift Machine Checklist paperwork.
- Sign Operators’ Pre-Shift Machine Checklist paperwork to verify operators are performing their checklist.
- Interact with Packers (ensure product is being picked the most efficient way possible).
- Relieve Packers for breaks.
- Fill out the manufacturing log at the end of shift or production run.
- Clean work area during and at the end of shift or production run.
- Repack/inspect trays if needed (use re-inspection form if necessary).
- Complete the packing process
• Close & tape cartons
• Attach correct carton label or load tags to the carton or skid (carton number & count must match the label or load tag).
• Place correct number of cartons on the skid.
- Ensure that raw material is at machines and ready for production.
- Ensure all production employees are following good housekeeping policies.
- Work safely and look out for the safety of others.
- Able to follow detailed work instructions.
- Perform job duties in order to meet quality, cost and on time delivery goals.
- Able to work over 40 hours if required.
- Other duties as required by the company.
Educational/Training Requirements/Experience (What your background should look like)
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Ability Requirements
- Basic mathematical and measuring skills.
- Good leadership skills.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Must be able to work in a factory environment which includes being on your feet for long periods of time and durations of hot weather during certain seasons of the year.

Additional Information
- Qualified candidate must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and be able to successfully complete a post-offer/pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Must have the ability to pass a mathematical aptitude test.
- Breaks are paid for which include two 10 minute breaks & one 20 minute lunch.
