Job summary

Gorbel is seeking a Machine Operator for the second shift to cut and drill steel and aluminum components per drawings and job specs. You will use overhead cranes and various drilling machines to stage parts for the next operation.

Responsibilities include following orders, performing set-ups, inspecting work, and documenting results. Applicants should read blueprints, operate tools safely, and communicate effectively with supervision.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience preferred.
• Must be able to pass truck and crane certification with training upon hire.
• Computer knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, and other programs.
• Ability to read a tape measure and blueprints.

• Cut steel material utilizing a variety of industrial saws.
• Measure and layout according to blueprint utilizing drill presses and automated drilling machines.
• Responsible for machine setups, operations and maintenance to meet production demands.
• Responsible for inspection and documentation of work to meet specifications.
• Assist in loading and unloading raw materials of various weights and lengths.
• Proper use of forklift, pallet jacks, overhead cranes and fall arrest system.
• All other duties as assigned by management.

• Follow job orders to specifications
• Cut steel material utilizing a variety of industrial saws
• Measure and layout according to blueprint utilizing drill presses and automated drilling machines
• Responsible for machine set-ups, operations and maintenance to meet production demands
• Responsible for inspection and documentation of work to meet specifications
• Assist in the loading and unloading of raw materials of various weights and lengths
• Proper use of forklift, pallet jacks, overhead cranes and fall arrest system

• Ability to participate in minor data entry
• Ability to read tape measure
• Ability to read a blue print
• Ability to use hand tools requiring dexterity
• Must be able to communicate effectively with factory supervision

• Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Able to stand (75%); walk (20%); stoop, kneel or crouch (5%), as required.
• Able to climb portable ladders
• Able to wear safety glasses and foot protection throughout shift.
• Able to wear hearing protectors (ear plugs) throughout the shift while working in an environment with moderate noise levels.
