Job summary

Gorbel, Inc. in Pell City, Alabama is seeking a Machine Operator for the Second Shift to cut and drill steel and aluminum components per drawings and specifications.

You will operate overhead cranes, load and unload materials, perform setups, and maintain quality records while following safety procedures in a moderate-noise manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1+ years experience preferred
• Must be able to pass truck and crane certification with training upon hire
• Computer knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and other computer programs
• Ability to participate in minor data entry
• Ability to read tape measure
• Ability to read a blue print
• Ability to use hand tools requiring dexterity
• Must be able to communicate effectively with factory supervision

Responsibilities

• Follow job orders to specifications.
• Cut steel material utilizing a variety of industrial saws.
• Measure and layout according to blueprint utilizing drill presses and automated drilling machines.
• Responsible for machine set-ups, operations and maintenance to meet production demands.
• Responsible for inspection and documentation of work to meet specifications.
• Assist in the loading and unloading of raw materials of various weights and lengths.
• Proper use of forklift, pallet jacks, overhead cranes and fall arrest system.
• All other duties as assigned by management
