Job summary

Smurfit Westrock plc, a packaging leader, has an opening on the 1st shift (6:00 AM–4:00 PM, Monday–Thursday) in Olive Branch, MS. The role focuses on safely operating manufacturing equipment, performing quality checks, and maintaining an organized workspace while learning our processes.

Ideal candidates are prepared for daily overtime during peak periods, can read a tape measure, perform basic math and use a computer, and will advance within the company through safety-conscious work and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to pass drug screening after conditional offer.
• Candidates considered without regard to protected characteristics.

Responsibilities

• Operate manufacturing equipment following directions and use power hand tools as needed.
• Maintain a clean work environment throughout the shift.
• Read a tape measure; perform basic math and use a computer.
• Follow all safety regulations to ensure a safe workplace.
• Lift, push or pull 50 lbs.; stand, walk, bend and kneel during the shift.
• Work daily and/or weekend overtime during peak seasons.

The Opportunity

• Position will work 1st Shift 6:00AM - 4:00PM, Monday to Thursday.
• Must be available to work daily overtime.
• Position pay rate depends on position assigned ($22.43HR).
• Benefits 1st day of employment to include, medical, dental, vision, 401K and prorated vacation time.

Job Summary

Primary duties include safely performing a wide range of tasks that include stacking corrugated product, conducting quality checks, material set-up, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to working safe, an ability to work in a fast-paced environment, a strong desire to learn manufacturing processes and the ability to operate complex machinery and have a desire to advance within the company.

Responsibilities

• Ability to operate various manufacturing equipment, follow specific direction, operate power hand tools and other duties as assigned
• Maintain a clean work environment
• Ability to read a tape measure and have basic math and computer skills
• Ability to work safely and comply with all safety regulations
• Ability to lift, push or pull 50 lbs., navigate stars, stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the entire shift
• Required to work daily and/or weekend overtime during peak seasons
