Job summary

Allegiance Staffing is seeking a mechanically inclined Machine Operator to set up and operate rotary transfer equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will perform tooling changes, troubleshoot issues, and help with basic maintenance to produce quality parts efficiently.

The role requires reading blueprints, gauges usage, and safe operation in a climate-controlled facility. Two shifts available with pay up to $20/hr and a $1 shift differential on 2nd shift.

Qualifications

  • Experience with tooling adjustments, machine setups, changeovers, and troubleshooting.
  • CNC experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand machining tolerances.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate rotary transfer machining equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Read blueprints, dimensions, and tolerance specs.
  • Inspect parts using gauges to ensure conformance.
  • Monitor hourly output and tool changes; record data.
  • Load/unload stock; start/stop machines.
  • Change tooling and assist with machine changeovers.
  • Troubleshoot production, quality, and equipment issues.
  • Assist with repairs and maintenance of tooling and spindles.
  • Maintain clean, safe work area; follow safety procedures.

Machine Operator – Rotary Transfer Set-Up/Operator

1st shift Monday-Friday 7AM-3:30PM

2nd shift Monday-Friday 3:30pm-Midnight

Up to $20/hr. (2nd shift has $1 shift differential)

3-6 month contract

Position Summary

We are seeking a mechanically inclined machine operator to set up and operate rotary transfer machining equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for producing quality parts efficiently, performing tooling changes and adjustments, troubleshooting production and quality issues, and assisting with basic machine and tooling maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate rotary transfer machining equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, dimensions, and tolerance specifications.
  • Inspect and gauge parts using pin/plug gauges, thread gauges, and positional gauges to ensure conformance.
  • Monitor production and record hourly output, tool changes, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Load and unload stock and properly start and stop machines.
  • Remove, replace, preset, and reinstall tooling such as drills, end mills, taps, die heads, recess tools, and burnish tools.
  • Make tooling adjustments and assist with machine changeovers.
  • Troubleshoot production, quality, and equipment issues.
  • Assist with repairs and maintenance involving tooling, spindles, belts, bearings, and other machine components.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Work effectively with team members across departments and follow all applicable safety requirements.
Qualifications
  • Experience with tooling adjustments, machine setups, changeovers, and troubleshooting.
  • CNC experience preferred but not required.
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC) experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand machining tolerances.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Mechanically inclined and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently lift and handle materials weighing approximately 10–20 lbs.
  • Occasionally lift materials weighing approximately 20–40 lbs.
  • Ability to grasp, handle, and manipulate products and materials safely.
Work Environment
  • Climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Noise levels typical of a machining and production facility.
  • Work may involve designated or authorized-access areas.
  • Employees are expected to follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
