Job Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating the line to produce products that meet quality specifications, maintaining machine systems, making necessary adjustments, and troubleshooting common machine and quality problems.

Key Responsibilities Essential Functions:

• Check the order sheet to determine the order to run and specifications for that order. (Ensure that the right material is being used)
• Load the core hopper with cores.
• Set up and complete initial threading of the machine.
• Perform quality checks at least once each hour.
• Monitor the process, correct jams and other issues that occur.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the line to GMP standards by removing cartons, trash, dust, and debris.

Other Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot minor quality and machine problems; communicate more complex issues to maintenance.
• Prepare rolls.
• Remove and replace mandrels as needed.
• Perform other duties as requested or required.

• Operate assigned spooler line at a minimum of 90% efficiency.
• Correctly change core knives.

Ability to lift 50 lbs., stand for ten hours (twelve during busy season), and walk up and down steps.
