Job summary

Silgan Containers in Kentucky is seeking a production operator with experience in injection and blow molding to join our manufacturing team. You will help operate machinery, perform changeovers, restart equipment, and maintain quality and OEE records to support continuous improvement.

The role requires lifting up to 35 lbs, bending and twisting, and strict adherence to safety policies. It is a full-time, on-site position based in Kentucky. safety training and PPE are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience with injection and blow molding is required.

Responsibilities

• Work and maintain a safe environment.

• Measure parts in accordance with the control plans and react accordingly to maintain good quality product.
• Assist with the trouble shooting of issues during startup and production runs.
• Work with Quality department, process technicians and maintenance and cross train.
• Promote safety and work safely throughout the facility following all Safety Policies.
• Wearing all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and required GMP gear.
• Be aware of all Emergency Exits and know procedures for Emergency Evacuation.
• Know the location of the SDS Safety Data Sheets and how to utilize properly.
• Know not to operate any equipment or perform any work without the proper training and authorization to complete the task safely.
• Always follow proper LOTO lock out/tag out procedures.
• Never remove or bypass machine guards and NEVER while the machine is in operation.
• Be cautious and aware of lift trucks and moving equipment.
• Report all injuries or accidents to the Department Lead or Manager immediately.
• Understand and follow plants housekeeping guidelines.
• Identify and implement lean and continuous improvement actions.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Member of the HACCP team upon request.
• Evaluates and takes appropriate action to maintain a safe work environment with established standards and guidelines.
• Inspect work areas and look for unsafe acts/conditions.
• Effectively use verbal and written communications.

Special Requirements

This position requires the cognitive and mental ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail. Mechanical Aptitude a plus.
