Job summary

Silgan Containers is seeking a maintenance technician to support manufacturing operations in the United States. The role emphasizes mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and strict adherence to GMP and housekeeping standards.

You will read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics, perform PMs without supervision, wear PPE, and report injuries or incidents to supervision. Proactive communication and safe work practices are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with GMP and housekeeping standards in manufacturing.
• Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics and PLC programs.
• Proficient with measuring and hand tools and safety procedures.

• Posse basic computer skills
• Executing, promoting, and working safely throughout the facility following all Safety Policies
• Wearing all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Being aware of all Emergency Exits and knowing procedures for Emergency Evacuation as well as location.
• Knowing the location of SDS Safety Data Sheets and how to utilize properly.
• Knowing not to operate any equipment or perform any work without the proper training and authorization to do complete the task safely. Always following proper LOTO lock out/tag out procedures.
• Never remove or bypass machine guards and NEVER while the machine is in operation.
• Being cautious and aware of lift trucks and moving equipment.
• Reporting all injuries or accidents to the Department Lead or Manager or immediately.
• Understand and follow plants housekeeping guidelines.
• Identifying and implementing lean and continuous improvement actions.
• Performing work safely and in accordance with GMP and housekeeping standards.
• Understand and adhere to all safety requirements.
