Job description

Job Description: Machine Operator

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 hours per day, with some mandatory overtime during busy periods.

Title & Hourly Rate: Machine Operator - $23.83/hr

Responsibilities:

1. Perform duties following Crown’s Standard Operating Procedures, Safety Rules, Safety Training, and Safe Start Principles.
2. Check delivery tickets for correct materials.
3. Pickup strips and insert into the correct position in the press magazine.
4. Straighten edges with a mallet.
5. Inspect ends from liner and oven.
6. Place into end bags as directed and stack on pallets using snake wrap.
7. Start and stop units as necessary.
8. Remove minor jams with tongs or pliers.
9. Report major jams, machine malfunctions, or quality issues to maintenance.
10. Maintain daily tally of ends produced and clean work area.
11. Perform paper and computer work, and other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull, and lift between 10 lb. and 50 lb.
• Stand at workstation for the duration of the shift, which may exceed 8 hours.
• Basic math skills.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, analyzing, and understanding English.
• Ability to work all scheduled shifts and adhere to attendance policies.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and noise levels.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
