Quanex is looking for a safety conscious, Extrusion Machine Operator to join our 2nd Shift team located in Cannon Falls, Minnesota.

In this role, you are responsible for performing changeovers, packing parts and performing quality checks, in a manner to consistently meet production standards and quality profiles on extrusion lines.

What Success Looks Like

• Follows all safety procedures as outlined in the AWAIR Policy, rules, and guidelines, always uses all approved safety devices and equipment and identifies any existing or potential safety issues.
• Capable of performing changeovers and machine adjustments.
• Follows standard work.
• Attends work on time and for scheduled hours each day.
• Completes paperwork accurately, thoroughly and neatly.
• Maintains required material levels.
• Responsible for all aspects of quality checking and recording on the lines being packaged including performing quality double checks for other lines.
• Performs total preventative maintenance per the TPM schedule or as directed by Team Leader.
• Promotes teamwork by cooperating and supporting co-workers.
• Maintains 5S Standards and keeps work area neat and clean.
• Willingly works in other departments or areas as required and can take direction from Team Leader.
  
  

The hourly rate falls within a range of $21.00 to $27.00 including shift differential, depending on experience, qualifications, and job responsibilities.

• High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Able to read and understand blueprints and job package.
• Positive attitude and a strong desire to learn.
• Ability to train and instruct other team members.
• Accountability and initiative.
• Ability to successfully complete Core-Abilities and Extrusion Proficiency Tests
