Job summary

Regal Rexnord’s Aerospace and Defense division seeks a hands-on machinist for an all-onsite role in Downers Grove, IL. You will read blueprints, set up machines, operate equipment, and maintain quality records while rotating across multiple machines.

The position offers a $20.00-$30.00 per hour wage, a comprehensive benefits package starting day one, including 401(k) with company match, and a $4,000 sign-on bonus. High reliability and English literacy are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with mechanical aptitude and at least 1 year of experience.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints and diagrams in English.
• Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Strong reliability and ability to work as scheduled to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work from process sheets, blueprints, setup sheets and cards; follow written and verbal instructions.
• Set up, adjust and operate production machines per procedures.
• Use calipers, micrometers, gauges; verify gauges and calibrate as required.
• Inspect own work to ensure quality and quantity standards; prepare and maintain quality records.
• Rotate between multiple machines and maintain safety and efficiency.

Key Accountabilities

• Work from process sheets, blueprints, setup sheets, setup cards, Gemba boards, and verbal as well as written instructions.
• Set up, adjust and operate production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
• Use calipers, micrometers, depth & height gauges, Sunnen gauges & plug gauges, hand tools and operate manual machines.
• Set up and/or verify preset gauges for proper calibration as required, inspect own work to ensure quality and quantity standards.
• Prepare and maintain quality records.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and diagrams in English.
• Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Rotate between multiple machines, able to lift up to 50lbs occasionally and stand for an entire shift.
• Other duties as assigned.
