Job summary

Cenveo in Chicago, IL is hiring immediately for 2nd and 3rd shift machine packers. You will load paper into automatic hand-fed or web envelope folding machines, inspect envelopes, and help meet daily production requirements. Training may occur on the 1st shift.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 6 months in a production role, and basic quality inspection and ruler-reading skills. This role offers a fast-paced environment with overtime during busy seasons.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of production experience preferred.
• Quality inspection skills and ability to read and measure with a ruler.

Responsibilities

• Load paper onto envelope folding machines and pack finished product.
• Inspect envelopes for quality and report variances.
• Monitor production schedules and assist with daily requirements.
• Perform rework as needed and clean work area at shift end.
• Other duties as assigned.

Information about the Company: Cenveo is a leading North American manufacturer of envelopes with over 100 years of experience and approximately 30 billion envelopes manufactured annually. We are hiring immediately for 2nd & 3 rd shift Machine Operators (Packers) for our manufacturing facility in Chicago, IL.

Machine Packer Pay/Schedule:

• Pay $18.00 per hour + shift premiums
• 3rd shift premium $2 per hour
• 3rd shift: 10pm - 6am
• Training may take place on 1 st shift 6am -- 2pm
• Schedule: Mon - Fri / Sat required during busy season/based on business needs.

Machine Packer Responsibilities & Daily Duties:

• Loads paper on to automatic hand-fed orweb envelope folding machines; pack finished product.
• Inspects quality of envelopes, labels cartons, reports variances to key personnel.
• Checks current production orders/schedules to determine daily production requirements.
• May be required to do rework on finished product; Cleans up work area during/end of shift.
• Other duties as assigned/required.

Machine Packer Physical Requirements & Work Environment:-

• Ability to keep up with a high-speed delivery output in a standing position for a full shift.
• Mental alertness; Ability to step up/reach overhead/manually feed paper into machine.
• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds; Manual dexterity required to grasp objects.
• Exposure to arm/wrist fatigue; Exposure to noise, hazardous materials (inks, solvents, glue, etc.).
• Must be able to work in hot or cold weather.
