Responsibilities

• Perform low pressure checks and quality inspections.
• Wipe off tooling and redraw as needed to maintain clear operating surfaces.
• Maintain plate log sheets and production reports for traceability.
• Operate palletizer and package cans into pallets and cartons.
• Place sleeves in cartons or wrap pallets as required for shipment.
• Monitor cans flow through equipment and identify defects.
• Assist line mechanics with basic repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Move finished goods from line to storage areas and prepare for shipment.
• Perform daily cleaning and upkeep of work area.
• Gain knowledge of production lines, equipment, and quality standards.

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform low pressure checks


• Wipe off tooling and redraw


• Maintain plate log sheets and can line production reports


• Operate can palletizer and package cans into pallets and boxes


• Place sleeves in cartons or snakewrap on pallet as required


• Observes flow of cans through equipment and check for defects


• Assist line mechanics in basic repairs and preventive maintenance


• Work on a palletizer to group and layer finished goods in preparation for storage or shipment


• Sort cans and chipboards


• Daily cleaning


• Gain knowledge of production lines, equipment, and quality standards

Job Requirements

• Ability to use basic mechanical tools to include measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers)


• Ability to communicate problems or potential hazards


• Ability to read, understand and work from blueprints and technical manuals


• High energy to keep machines moving


• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow verbal/written instructions in English

Experience/Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to kneel, stoop, crawl, squat, and stand for extended period, while running machinery up to 12 hours


• Must possess adequate upper body strength to repeatedly pull or push hand tools in order to make, repair, or adjust parts and/or machines


• Ability to lift 50 pounds


• Ability to be in constant motion about 50-70% of shifts
