Job description

Machine Operator

Job Summary: Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) is seeking a skilled Machine Operator for our EMV department at our Bolingbrook manufacturing facility. This second-shift role operates Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with regular overtime opportunities. We seek a positive, experienced individual eager for a long-term role, who enjoys physical work, guiding staff, and achieving results. The role will evolve with new responsibilities and challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Operate EMV machines during production, ensuring products meet established parameters.
  2. Understand and execute all machine functions and operating sequences.
  3. Load materials onto machines in the correct order and sequence.
  4. Read job specifications and previous run data to set machine parameters and material requirements.
  5. Perform maintenance following Lockout/Tag-out procedures.
  6. Meet or exceed standards for line speeds, scrap rates, and setup times.
  7. Load and unload stock efficiently and safely.
  8. Maintain department inventory and supplies.
  9. Report maintenance needs promptly.
  10. Collaborate with Quality Assurance to meet product specifications.
  11. Complete documentation and data entry accurately and promptly.
  12. Engage in ongoing training for continuous quality improvement.
  13. Verify material conformance using measuring devices.
  14. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  15. Ensure safety guards are in place before operating machinery.
  16. Conduct inspections to ensure quality standards.
  17. Follow GMP policies and address safety/security issues immediately.
  18. Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot malfunctions.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience operating production machines in manufacturing.
  • Positive attitude and team spirit.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Correctable eyesight to 20/20 and normal color perception.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Ability to perform precision hand movements.
  • Regularly lift 50 pounds and work safely around machinery.
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills related to machine setup and operation.

The pay range is $16.00 - $19.00 per hour, with eligibility for an annual bonus.
