Position Title: Manufacturing Machine Operator - Night Shift

Location: Athens, GA

Description:

Our Manufacturing Machine Operator supports Mativ's Filtration & Advanced Materials Business. This individual will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of machine lines, including setup, start-up, and effective use of line equipment, auxiliary equipment, tooling changes, monitoring, testing, and production reporting.

The shift hours are 7:45 pm to 8:00 am (night shift), with training during day hours for the first few weeks. Mandatory overtime may be required.

Hourly Pay: $20.70

Responsibilities:

1. Set up:
   • Read and understand schedule, BOM, SOC.
   • Perform all setup functions including selecting, installing tooling, and ensuring correct resin.
2. Start up:
   • Position controls to SOC; activate extruder and drives; test initial product.
   • Make adjustments; verify product inspection.
   • Package product per instructions.
   • Troubleshoot process; perform QC tests per SOC; validate process control.
   • Store finished product per instructions.
   • Enter data accurately in data collection system.
3. Tooling:
   • Identify tooling damage and wear.
   • Clean and return used tooling to stock.
4. Safety:
   • Report accidents following procedure.
   • Maintain cleanliness in work area.
   • Comply with OSHA/Company safety requirements.
   • Know locations of MSDS, first aid supplies, fire extinguishers, exits.
5. Qualifications:
   • Preferred: Forklift qualified, understanding of data collection systems, mechanical background, proficiency with measuring tools, basic computer and math skills.
6. Position Demands:
   • Work in a manufacturing environment with variable temperatures, dust, fumes, and odors.
   • Wear PPE including safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and adhere to dress policies.
   • Meet physical demands: lift at least 75 pounds, work 12-hour shifts, perform repetitive tasks, and perform physical movements such as standing, sitting, reaching, climbing, bending, and focusing.
