Job summary

Materion Corporation is seeking a Machine Operator to operate various production machines in a manufacturing environment while upholding safety, quality, and in-process checks. Starting pay is $26.76 per hour with a shift differential of $1.50 for afternoon shifts and $1.00 for overnight shifts.

You will follow instructions, record data, troubleshoot minor issues, inspect parts with measuring tools, and perform testing throughout processing.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1–2 years of manufacturing/production experience.
  • Ability to use measuring devices (micrometers, gauges).
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort with PPE.

Responsibilities

  • Follow detailed parts instructions and complete processing requirements.
  • Record process data as required by SOPs.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment problems.
  • Inspect parts visually and dimensionally with measuring tools.
  • Interpret visual specs to classify defects.
  • Perform testing and inspection of materials/parts throughout processing.

As a Machine Operator , you are responsible for operating various machines in the production areas while adhering to safety requirements, quality parameters and in-process checks.

You will have the opportunity to:
  • Follow detailed partsinstructions and ensure thatprocessing requirements in those documents are completed
  • Recordprocess data as required by standard operating procedures
  • Troubleshoot minor problems with the equipment
  • Inspect parts both visually and dimensionally, use proper measuring equipment
  • Interpret visual specifications to recognize and classify defective material
  • Perform testing and inspection of materials and/or parts throughout the processing sequence

Requirements:
  • Must be flexible to work both afternoon & overnight shifts
  • Must be flexible to work either 8, 10, or 12 hours shifts plus weekends/overtime as needed
  • High School Diploma /GED
  • 1-2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment operating equipment
  • Ability to use measuring devices, such as micrometers and gauges
  • Mechanical interest and aptitude
  • This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment
  • This position requires that the individual is able to lift a minimum of 45lbs. and can maneuver large, cumbersome equipment
  • Required to do data entry and operate a computer at times
  • Required to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle, grip or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms
  • Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch at times
  • Ability to push/pull up to 130 pounds of force
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus when reading
  • Ability to work in environments with hot temperature conditions
  • Ability to operate manufacturing equipment such as forklifts on occasion
