Job summary

Materion Corporation is seeking a Machine Operator in Ohio to run production equipment, follow detailed instructions, and meet strict quality checks. You will record data, troubleshoot minor equipment issues, and inspect parts with precision.

The role requires 1–2 years in manufacturing, High School Diploma or GED, and ability to lift and operate various measuring tools. It offers on-site work with shift flexibility including afternoon and overnight rotations.

Qualifications

• Must be flexible to work either 8, 10, or 12 hours shifts plus weekends/overtime as needed.
• High School Diploma / GED.
• 1-2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment operating equipment.
• Ability to use measuring devices, such as micrometers and gauges.
• Mechanical interest and aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Follow detailed parts instructions and ensure that processing requirements in those documents are completed
• Record process data as required by standard operating procedures
• Troubleshoot minor problems with the equipment
• Inspect parts both visually and dimensionally, use proper measuring equipment
• Interpret visual specifications to recognize and classify defective material
• Perform testing and inspection of materials and/or parts throughout the processing sequence

As a Machine Operator, you are responsible for operating various machines in the production areas while adhering to safety requirements, quality parameters and in-process checks.

Essential Tasks

• This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment
• This position requires that the individual is able to lift a minimum of 45lbs. and can maneuver large, cumbersome equipment
• Required to do data entry and operate a computer at times
• Required to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle, grip or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms
• Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch at times
• Ability to push/pull up to 130 pounds of force
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus when reading
• Ability to work in environments with hot temperature conditions
• Ability to operate manufacturing equipment such as forklifts on occasion
