Job summary

Grimco in Akron, OH is seeking a reliable Machine Operator to run hydraulic presses and produce stamped parts within tight tolerances. You will inspect parts, report issues, and coordinate with material handlers to keep scrap low and the workspace organized.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, safety-mindedness, and reliable transportation. Punch press experience is a plus but not required. This is a full-time on-site position with strong benefits.

Job Description

• Produce Stampings by processing metal through hydraulic press, safely, within specified tolerances.
• Inspect completed parts for conformance to standards and tolerances.
• Report non-conforming parts to supervisor / QC staff.
• Communicate needs with material handlers, and then remove scrap and maintain organized work area.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating punch press is desired but not required.
• Must demonstrate the physical ability to perform tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Safety conscious at all times.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Requires the ability to lift, push, pull and carry tools and materials weighing 70+ pounds on a frequent basis.
• Requires prolonged standing or walking, frequent bending, stooping, and reaching daily.
• Requires the ability to climb ladders to pick or put away products.
• Requires full range of physical motion to operate manual & electrically powered tools/machines (i.e., forklift).
• Stand 100 % of the day.
