Job summary

Daktronics in Brookings, South Dakota, is seeking a Machine Maintenance Technician to keep automated manufacturing equipment running smoothly. Qualifications

• Regularly and reliably work the scheduled hours, including scheduled overtime.

When will I work?

The primary work hours for this position are 6:00am to 6:00pm, Friday through Sunday, with overtime required as needed.

What will the work look like for me?

You'll keep Daktronics factories running smoothly and without incident. You'll do this by:

• Performing scheduled preventative maintenance on automated equipment.
• Making emergency repairs to electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Training peers to perform maintenance tasks.
• Communicating effectively over the phone to repair equipment.
• Performing other duties as assigned and as needed to meet customer expectations.

What are the pay and perks?

The typical hiring range for thisposition is$31.00 to $36.00 per hour based on the location ofSouth Dakota.This includes both base pay and an applicable shift increment. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including relevant education, experiences, location, and applicable local legislation.

• Ability to work with minimum supervision, effectively exercising discretion and independent judgment.
• Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work area in accordance with Daktronics Safety Policy and OSHA standards. Items may include safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, electrostatic discharge wear, and others as determined necessary by Daktronics Risk and Safety Department. You will be provided the PPE for the required areas. Pulmonary function tests for use of respirator may be required.
• Physical requirements include the ability to:
  • Work in an environment with these types of smells: paint, solvent, and solder.
  • Move materials weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Remain in a stationary position for the full shift with planned breaks.
  • Work from heights, including working from ladders and platforms.
  • Have full range of motion (including but not limited to bending and lifting).
  • Reach in all directions (up, down, side-to-side, and diagonal reaching), including awkward positions.
  • Maintain steady hand/eye coordination.
  • Identify wire and paint colors.
  • Read fine print.
• The selected individual must be able to travel by air and ground and comply with the Daktronics Driver Eligibility Policy to begin and maintain employment. This requirement will be verified through a motor vehicle record (MVR) check conducted in accordance with applicable federal, state, provincial, and local laws.
• Fluent in English, written and verbal.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
