Job summary

Daktronics in Brookings, South Dakota, is seeking a Machine Maintenance Technician to keep automated manufacturing equipment running smoothly. You will perform preventative maintenance, make emergency repairs, and train peers in maintenance tasks while meeting safety standards and quality expectations.

The role requires an Associate degree in a technical field, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Two-year Associate degree in Electrical, Robotics, Mechatronics, Diesel Mechanics, Energy Technology, or a similar technical field is required.
• Demonstrated ability in problem solving and troubleshooting.
• Ability to follow work plans and prioritize work orders, escalating issues when needed.
• Regularly and reliably work the scheduled hours, including scheduled overtime.
• Excellent communication skills, including technical writing.
• Willingness to learn and capable of learning quickly.
• Willingness to receive feedback and make changes.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and exercise independent judgment.
• Wear PPE per Daktronics Safety Policy and OSHA standards; PPE provided.
• Travel by air and ground; MVR check as per policy.
• Fluent in English; 18+ years old; no immigration sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Performing scheduled preventative maintenance on automated equipment.
• Making emergency repairs to electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Training peers to perform maintenance tasks.
• Communicating effectively over the phone to repair equipment.
• Performing other duties as assigned to meet customer expectations.
• Inputting maintenance details into work orders and tracking parts.
• Contributing to discussions on new equipment purchases and processes.
