Job summary

SHAPE Technologies Group (KMT Waterjet division) seeks a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC and diverse industrial machinery. You will read schematics, work with PLCs and electrical drives, and coordinate with the Facility Maintenance Manager to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 2 years of industrial and machine maintenance experience with electrical and mechanical focus.
• Electrical certification, degree, or CNC maintenance cert preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical maintenance and repairs on CNC machines, industrial equipment, and building facilities.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot CNC circuits.
• Calibrate and adjust CNC machine controls and electrical equipment for proper functionality.
• Inspect CNC machine controls and equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation.
• Maintain documentation of all maintenance work, repairs, and inspections performed.
• Complete daily maintenance tasks and support special projects; respond to emergencies as needed.
• Assist with additional maintenance, including mechanical repairs and general facility upkeep.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining CNC machines, manual machines, and a wide range of industrial machinery and facility systems. Your expertise in reading schematics, ladder logic, PLC programming, and working with electrical drives will play a critical part in ensuring smooth operations. You will report to the Facility Maintenance Manager and collaborate closely with other departments to maintain seamless operations

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical maintenance and repairs on CNC machines, industrial equipment, and building facilities, including troubleshooting PLCs, drives, and other control systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot CNC machine electrical circuits and components.
• Perform calibration and adjustment of CNC machine controls and electrical equipment to ensure proper functionality.
• Perform routine inspections on CNC machine controls and equipment to ensure all electrical are running efficiently and safely.
• Maintain documentation of all maintenance work, repairs, and inspections performed.
• Complete daily maintenance tasks, support special projects, and respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues.
• Assist with additional maintenance activities, including mechanical repairs, facility upkeep, and general building maintenance as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule

This position may require occasional overtime, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends, to respond to equipment failures, facility issues, weather-related events, or maintenance projects. Schedule flexibility may be required to support operational needs.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong mechanical aptitude, self-motivation, organization, and reliability, with the ability to multitask and work independently or as part of a team.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and mechanical systems, particularly in CNC machines and facility maintenance.
• Proficiency in using dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, gauges, electric multimeters, hand tools, power tools, industrial lifts, welding equipment, and torches.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Broad understanding of plant machinery and equipment setup, including lathes, mills, drills, grinders, pumps, cranes, and other production tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills, quick decision-making abilities, and the ability to work from verbal or written instructions.
• Adherence to all lockout/tagout safety procedures.

Education and/or Training:

• High school diploma or GED
• Prefer a minimum of two (2) years of industrial and machine maintenance with a strong focus on both electrical and mechanical systems.
• Extensive hands-on-experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.
• At least (1) year of general facility maintenance preferred.
• Electrical certification, electrical degree, or CNC maintenance certification preferred.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

• Ability to stand for 8+ hour shifts.
• Lift/carrying/moving up to 50+ pounds. Push, pull, bend, and twist upper and lower body. Extensive use of hands to grasp and adjust machinery.
• Ability to use industrial aerial lifts and industrial-powered lifts
• Ability to work in high areas or confined areas.
• Work in cold and hot climates
