Job summary

nVent is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift (2 PM–10:30 PM), Monday–Friday, in Centralia, WA. You will safely install, inspect, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment, reporting to the Plant Manager and supporting overall plant goals.

Starting pay is $27.50/hour with scale based on experience. The role requires at least 3 years of maintenance experience, a high school diploma, the ability to read blueprints, and to use digital/analog meters and precision measuring

Qualifications

• Must have at least 3 years of maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; trade certificate preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Experience with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing equipment.
• Proficiency using digital/analog volt/amp/ohm meters and measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing systems.
• Plan and execute a sequence of work with safety and quality.
• Document activities and report faults to supervisor.
• Overtime may be required to meet production needs.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Maintenance Technicians use knowledge, skills, and effort to safely install, inspect, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment. This position is for 2nd shift 2PM - 10:30, Monday - Friday. This individual is a member of the Maintenance team and reports to the Plant Manager. This individual will also support nVent goals in any way that management requests with a positive attitude.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

• Complete all assigned tasks in a safe, professional, and timely manner.
• Improve skills and increase knowledge relating to the job.
• General ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing equipment.
• Plan and perform a sequence of work to move, install, repair, and maintain a wide variety of production and building equipment.
• Diagnose trouble, determine extent of repair necessary, disassemble, replace or repair parts or construct new parts, reassemble, test and adjust.
• Perform all machine and bench operations required to construct replacement parts or to recondition worn or defective parts.
• Perform welding operations such as repairing or making up guards, stands, or bins.
• Perform preventative maintenance on facility and production equipment.
• Report faulty equipment, defective material and unusual conditions to supervisor.
• Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
• Proper setup and careful operation of machine tools to prevent damage or loss.
• Work regular schedule and overtime when requested.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or directed, which may require more than the normal shift hours or work week to meet company needs.

YOU HAVE:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must have at least 3 years of maintenance experience.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Computer skills including data entry and retrieval (Microsoft Outlook).
• Ability to read Blueprints.
• Ability to operate Digital or Analog volt/amp/ohm meter.
• Use of measuring tools (Dial indicators, Micrometer, and Caliber).
• Trade school certificate in maintenance or machine repair preferred.

Pay Transparency

nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.

Compensation Range:

$23.90 - $44.40 Per Hour

Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
