Job summary

Enjet Aero in New Britain, CT, is hiring a Machine Maintenance & Facility Technician to perform general maintenance on shop equipment and facility grounds. The role supports IPC safety standards, TPM schedules, and preventative maintenance on CNC machines, HVAC units, and related systems.

You will work 6AM–3:30PM, M-F, with potential pre/post shift overtime and occasional travel to other Enjet locations. Strong mechanical, teamwork, and safety focus are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Strong project management skills and motivation to complete tasks.
  • Repairs and maintains all assigned machines and equipment, including preventative maintenance support.
  • Troubleshoots repairs, installs, erects, moves, and dismantles machinery and production equipment.
  • Respond to maintenance issues affecting production quality in a timely manner.
  • Maintain TPM schedules for CNC machines and perform lubrication, filtering, and housekeeping.
  • Lubricate and maintain equipment per manufacturer recommendations.
  • Keep machine service records and complete TPM paperwork monthly.
  • Mix cleaning chemicals per spec or management direction.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and operators.
  • Identify and report safety or maintenance issues to management.
  • Clean tools after daily use and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintain facility to high standards and assist safety teams.
  • Perform HVAC RTU inspections and replace filters.
  • Travel to other Enjet locations as needed.

  • Perform routine HVAC RTU inspections and replace filters.
  • Shovel snow, apply salt, and keep exits clear during winter months.
  • Provide backup duties for maintenance staff when needed.
  • Travel to other Enjet locations to perform similar duties.

Machine Maintenance & Facility Technician

Position Description:

Perform general maintenance of the shop machine equipment, facility grounds, and building in orderly manner. Proactively repair facility and machines as needed. Work with and support other maintenance staff, plus shop workers as necessary. Working on special business projects across the facility will also be required.

Shift - 6AM to 3:30PM, M-F, including weekends and pre/post shift overtime as needed to support the business. Work duties may include calendar shutdown periods and will be scheduled in advance.

ABLE TO PERFORM THE FOLLOWING:

  • Strong mechanical ability to troubleshoot mechanical machine issues, disassemble and reassemble machines in a timely, safe and efficient fashion
  • Comply with established job safety practices, policies, and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work assignment
  • Support and follow the guidelines of OSHA regulations
  • Able to work independently and as a team
  • Self-starting and can be held accountable to successfully complete all projects
  • Safely use basic hand, power, and air tools
  • Able to always wear safety glasses and safety shoes
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Able to walk, stand, move around equipment, bend, kneel, squat, reach, stretch and effectively use ladders
  • Full use of hands, wrists, arms, shoulders, legs and back
  • Actively communicate with team members and work well with others
  • Keep all chemicals used labeled to comply with OSHA and EPA standards
  • Always think SAFETY while performing all work duties
  • Play an active role with the site's safety team
  • Possess and must maintain a valid state driver's license to drive company van as needed

JOB PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strong project management skills, self-starting and motivated to complete all required tasks.
  • Repairs and maintains all assigned machines and equipment, including preventative maintenance help as needed.
  • Troubleshoots repairs, installs, erects, moves, and/or dismantles all types of machinery and auxiliary production equipment.
  • Respond and resolve maintenance issues that affect production quality and performance in a timely manner. Ensure the work is performed correctly and follows all approved procedures.
  • Maintain specific TPM (Total Preventive Maintenance) schedule of CNC machines - such as but not limited to replacement coolant, maintain oil levels, filter cleaning or replacing, machine wipe down and machine surrounding area during each TPM, items done as needed
  • Properly lubricate and maintain equipment as per the manufacturer recommended lubrication schedules
  • Maintain machine service records and carry out monthly TPM paperwork process
  • Properly mix cleaning chemicals and agents to manufacture spec or as directed by management
  • Communicate appropriately with other employees, building strong rapport with machine operators
  • Identify and report possible safety and maintenance issues to manager
  • Clean company used tools after each day of use
  • Maintain facility to highest standards, endure that everything works as needed. Able to find issues that could lead to future problems/failure
  • Perform routine HVAC building RTU inspections, looking for problems, and replace filters
  • Take notice of possible safety issues that might arise - Example: Oil, coolant, water, etc. on the floor - properly mop up and fan dry
  • Shovel snow from sidewalks, fire exits, roof, and doorways - sprinkle salt on surface
  • Perform employee backup duties for others in maintenance should they be out of the building
  • Travel to other Enjet locations as needed to perform similar duties

EXPERIENCE WITH THE FOLLOWING:

  • CNC control operation
  • Woodworking of all kinds
  • Service experience with hydraulic systems, compressed air and pumps
  • Fabricates sheet metal
  • Strong working knowledge with the use of mechanic and power tools
  • Plumbing including sweat pipes, cut and fabricate copper fittings
  • MIG welding
