Job summary

Opportunity Group, Inc. in Holland, MI is seeking a Machine Design Engineer to design and enhance machinery using SolidWorks, with flexible hours and direct-hire opportunities.

You will create custom automation equipment, size components, and support assembly and troubleshooting throughout projects. Experience with SolidWorks and related 3D CAD tools is important; US citizenship or Green Card is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.
• Experience as a Machine Designer in material handling, assembly, or automation.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks; familiarity with Inventor, CREO, Pro-E, AutoCAD or other 3D design software is beneficial.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and servos is advantageous.
• Strong technical aptitude, team-oriented mindset, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Project Engineering or structural design experience is a plus.
• Must be a US citizen or possess a Green Card.

Responsibilities

• Create, design, and layout custom automation equipment based on engineering principles and expertise.
• Conceptualize machine designs and select appropriate materials.
• Develop detailed models and drawings using SolidWorks software.
• Size mechanical components such as pumps, gears, pulleys, sheet metal, bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics, and piping.
• Provide support for machine assembly and troubleshooting.
