Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Machine Assistant at our Shelbyville plant to support production lines, ensure compliance with customer and manufacturing specifications, and help maintain quality and efficiency. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

The position offers a 12-hour shift (2-2-3 rotation, days/nights 7:00–7:00), with competitive hourly pay and shift premium, plus benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, understand, and follow customer specifications.
• Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
• Must have basic computer skills to operate in supervisor/operator software.
• Visual acuity to perform visual inspections and color differentiation.

Responsibilities

• Assist on production lines to produce quality products.
• Ensure jobs run in accordance with customer and manufacturing specs.
• Verify product quality and defect-free status.
• Work with operators to maximize machine efficiency and minimize changeovers/downtime.
• Maintain cleanliness during shift and transitions.

Schedule

Shift: 12-hours; 2-2-3 rotation, hours 7-7 (Days/Nights)

• Overtime: 1.5x pay for hours over 40 per week

What you'll do:

• Assist on production lines that produce quality products.

• Ensure jobs are running in accordance with customer, manufacturing, and printing specifications.

• Quality compliance of products including verifying they are free of defects.

• Work with operators to maximize machine efficiency including minimizing job changeovers and down time.

• Maintains cleanliness in work area during shift and shift transitions.

What We Want From You: Lead the Pack

Preferred qualifications:

• Ability read, understand, and follow customer specifications

• Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.

• Forklift experience preferred

• Must have basic computer skills to complete tasks in operator software

• Required to have visual acuity to perform visual inspection including the use of measurement devices and ability to identify and distinguish colors
