Overview:
We are seeking an entry-level assembly technician for our Machinery Group at our Technical Center in York, PA. The role involves assembling rotary blow-mold machinery and providing mechanical support to our production facilities, with up to 50% travel (including international) for machinery commissioning, debugging, and problem-solving.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Area Leads to meet production schedules during assembly and build phases.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to build machinery according to specifications.
- Ensure full compliance with safety regulations.
- Organize incoming equipment and parts to maintain assembly flow.
- Maintain workshop cleanliness and stock components and materials.
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Conduct tests, repairs, or replacements of faulty machine parts.
- Disassemble outdated machines and salvage usable parts.
- Handle large and heavy components through rigging.
- Conduct quality inspections on components and assembled units.
- Assist with painting and finishing of machine parts.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Participate in internal design reviews and provide technical feedback.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures.
- Travel as needed for machinery commissioning and troubleshooting.
- Support other departments within the Technical Center as required.
- Attend mandatory training activities.
Qualifications
Core Skills and Proficiencies
- Proficient with hand and power tools.
- Ability to operate forklifts, aerial lifts, and overhead cranes.
- Ability to read technical specifications, manuals, and blueprints.
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Assist electrical engineers with panel installation and wiring.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills.
- Mechanical troubleshooting expertise.
- Knowledge of safety procedures like LOTO.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, and Adobe; CAD experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems is advantageous.
Education and Experience
- Technical School diploma or equivalent in industrial machinery assembly/maintenance.
- Experience with manual machining and fabrication equipment is preferred.
