Overview:

We are seeking an entry-level assembly technician for our Machinery Group at our Technical Center in York, PA. The role involves assembling rotary blow-mold machinery and providing mechanical support to our production facilities, with up to 50% travel (including international) for machinery commissioning, debugging, and problem-solving.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Area Leads to meet production schedules during assembly and build phases.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to build machinery according to specifications.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety regulations.
  • Organize incoming equipment and parts to maintain assembly flow.
  • Maintain workshop cleanliness and stock components and materials.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment.
  • Conduct tests, repairs, or replacements of faulty machine parts.
  • Disassemble outdated machines and salvage usable parts.
  • Handle large and heavy components through rigging.
  • Conduct quality inspections on components and assembled units.
  • Assist with painting and finishing of machine parts.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Participate in internal design reviews and provide technical feedback.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Travel as needed for machinery commissioning and troubleshooting.
  • Support other departments within the Technical Center as required.
  • Attend mandatory training activities.
Qualifications
Core Skills and Proficiencies
  • Proficient with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, aerial lifts, and overhead cranes.
  • Ability to read technical specifications, manuals, and blueprints.
  • Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
  • Assist electrical engineers with panel installation and wiring.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting expertise.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures like LOTO.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, and Adobe; CAD experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems is advantageous.
Education and Experience
  • Technical School diploma or equivalent in industrial machinery assembly/maintenance.
  • Experience with manual machining and fabrication equipment is preferred.
