Job summary

Cartamundi is seeking a Mac (Prepress) Operator for our Dallas facility to focus on the pre-flight process and file preparation for production. You will review and adjust digital files to meet printing specs, perform color corrections, and ensure proper bleed, pagination, and font integrity.

The role requires 3–5 years in a prepress-related position, proficiency with Mac systems and Adobe Creative Suite, and the ability to troubleshoot files in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years in a Prepress related role.
• Experience using a Mac computer is required.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite software, in a Prepress environment is required.
• Strong knowledge of pre-press software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, ArtPro+, etc.).
• Experience troubleshooting files during pre-flight.
• Experience understanding carton folding.
• Strong file management and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Set-up client files for output to Digital and Offset Presses.
• Ensure a top quality pre-flight technical check, verifying all images meet requirements.
• Check inks, trim, bleed, image resolution, etc.
• 1up art prep for press from supplied PDF and native art.
• Trap and fix bleeds and troubleshoot art files as needed.
• Impose files for press (layout, marks, color bars, etc.).
• Output of proofs and contract color proofs for match.
• Output of plates in plate room and file completed jobs when needed.
• Calibrate output devices.
• Review and ensure accuracy to all provided ticket orders and layouts.
• Meet production schedule.
