Job summary

Cartamundi is hiring a Mac (Prepress) Operator for our Dallas facility to support pre-press activities and the printing workflow. You will review and prepare digital files, perform pre-flight checks, and ensure files are production-ready for digital and offset presses.

You will work on Adobe Creative Suite and Esko workflows on a Mac, resolving file issues, coordinating with teams, and meeting tight deadlines in a climate-controlled environment with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years in a Prepress related role.
• Experience using a Mac computer is required.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite in a prepress environment.
• Strong knowledge of pre-press software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, ArtPro+, Esko).
• Ability to troubleshoot files during pre-flight and manage file integrity.

Responsibilities

• Set up client files for output to Digital and Offset Presses.
• Perform top quality pre-flight checks to ensure images meet requirements.
• Check inks, trim, bleed, image resolution, and related specs.
• Prepare 1up art for press from PDFs and native art.
• Trap and fix bleeds and troubleshoot art files as needed.
• Impose files for press and manage color proofs for match.
• Output plates and complete jobs in plate room when required.
• Calibrate output devices and verify accuracy against tickets.
• Meet production schedule and coordinate with teams.
