Penn State Health is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant at the Windmere Family Practice in State College, PA. The position supports health care services, specimen collection, routine lab studies, and administrative tasks including coordinating patient flow and scheduling, and handling phone messages.

Day shift, 7:00a - 5:30p, 1.00 FTE. The Windmere office serves Family Practice with Pediatric and Family Medicine Residents; a team-oriented, personable staff member who remains motivated

Qualifications

  • Must meet current eligibility to sit for the exam with attainment of CMA or RMA certification within 90 days of employment date or current active CMA/RMA status.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for providing assistance with various health care services, for obtaining specimens, for conducting routine lab studies of specimens, and for assisting with administrative functions such as coordinating patient flow and scheduling appointments and phone messages.

The Windmere office is one of the Penn State Health outpatient offices in State College near the small town of Boalsburg. On average, this practice will see 50 patients per day and serves primarily as a Family Practice, while also accommodating Pediatric Specialties and Family Medicine Residents. The Windmere team is seeking a team-oriented and personable staff member who remains motivated throughout the day.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must meet current eligibility to sit for the exam with attainment of certification or registration through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistants within 90-days of employment date or current active status as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistant certification required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain BLS Certification within 6 months of employment date.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
  • Previous outpatient experience preferred.
