Job summary

The Clearing House in Raleigh is seeking a highly skilled Microsoft 365 Communications Systems Engineer to join Corporate Platform Engineering. The role focuses on Exchange administration (on-prem and cloud), Teams governance, and M365 security controls.

You will troubleshoot complex issues, drive adoption of integrated SaaS solutions (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow in Teams), and maintain a secure, compliant environment while operating in a change-managed setting.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Exchange Online and on-prem Exchange administration.
• Experience with Teams governance, lifecycle management, and SaaS integrations.
• Familiarity with Purview compliance and retention policies.
• Knowledge of Defender for Cloud and email security best practices.
• Experience with Entra ID, SSO configurations, and Azure AD Connect.
• PowerShell scripting for automation and troubleshooting.
• Strong AD/GP, schema updates, and certificate management.
• Fundamentals of network and server administration.
• Disaster recovery validation and testing willingness.
• Ability to operate under strict Change Management.
• Security/risk controls & hardening standards.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Ownership mindset; proactive and able to fail fast.

Responsibilities

• Manage Exchange Online and on-prem Exchange environments, including mail flow and hybrid configurations.
• Implement Defender for Cloud policies for email security.
• Troubleshoot mail delivery and compliance issues.
• Configure Teams policies, governance, and lifecycle management.
• Drive adoption of Jira and ServiceNow integrations in Teams.
• Support Teams Rooms and meeting experience enhancements.
• Design and maintain Purview retention and compliance policies across Exchange, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Participate in security reviews and align with standards (NIST/ISO/CIS/PCI/FFIEC).
• Assist with Entra ID configurations and conditional access.
• Basic AD/GP tasks, monitoring, and automation via PowerShell.
• Document configurations and KM materials.
• Collaborate across teams and deliver solutions quickly.
