Job summary

New York Southern District Court is seeking an IT Automation and Optimization Specialist to design and implement technology-driven solutions that improve court processes. You will leverage Microsoft 365 and Power Platform, plus AI and RPA, to reduce manual work and increase efficiency across departments and staff.

The role requires proactive engagement with judges and staff, strong analytical and project-management skills, and a solid grasp of privacy and security requirements for judiciary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; bachelor’s degree with experience considered.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and Power Platform preferred.
• Ability to analyze processes and gather requirements for automation.
• Knowledge of privacy and security requirements for judiciary environments.
• Strong communication and project-management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Proactively meet with court departments to review workflows and identify automation opportunities.
• Analyze processes to decide if redesign, simplification, or standardization is needed.
• Document requirements and translate them into practical tech solutions with security focus.
• Design, build, test, and maintain automation using Microsoft 365 tools and related tech.
• Evaluate AI/LLM/chatbot/bot/RPA options and implement them as appropriate.
• Develop prototypes and proofs-of-concept to test feasibility before full rollout.
• Manage automation projects end-to-end including scope, timelines, and risks.
• Coordinate implementation, conduct user acceptance testing, and create training materials.
• Provide staff training and demonstrations on new processes and technology capabilities.
• Monitor solutions, track metrics, and identify further optimization opportunities.
• Collaborate with developers, admins, cybersecurity staff on integrations and compliance.
• Serve as an SME for Microsoft 365 automation and emerging technologies.
