Job summary

CACI International is seeking an Intermediate Modeling & Simulation Engineer to support terrestrial RF signal modeling and software-level representations for defense programs at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The role focuses on ground-based radar, communications networks, jamming systems, and environmental effects.

Responsibilities include developing algorithms for FHSS/DSSS, configuring RF environments, and translating threat system operations into functional software models for HWIL/SWIL

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or closely related).
• 2+ years in engineering, modeling, or software development roles.
• Strong programming fundamentals: variables, functions, Booleans, arrays; algorithm design; OOP concepts.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, or C++ for signal processing or modeling.
• Familiarity with RF propagation models and HWIL/SWIL testing

Responsibilities

• Model ground-based RF emitters, communications, and jamming systems using parametric data and TECHINT.
• Develop and test algorithms for terrestrial signals including FHSS, DSSS, and various modulation schemes.
• Create RF environment models accounting for terrain, multipath, atmospheric loss, and foliage.
• Translate threat system operation into software models and analyze system behavior.
• Support integration of threat models into simulations to test EW software.
