Job summary

voco Orchard Singapore is seeking a dynamic M&E Technician to ensure routine maintenance of hotel equipment and facilities for peak efficiency and guest satisfaction.

You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, manage parts stock, and keep plant rooms orderly while coordinating with the engineering team to apply safety standards and correct operating procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience with related NTC certificates (equivalent to Nitec certification).
• Experience working in an international hotel chain.
• Able to troubleshoot electrical issues and keep track of stock inventory.
• Proactive, independent, and able to work under pressure.
• Good team player with a strong positive attitude, customer-centric thinking, self-motivation, and determination.
• Proficiency in English is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance and curative maintenance.
• Order and monitor fuels, lubricants and repair parts.
• Maintain clean and tidy plant rooms.
• Maintain knowledge to handle minor problems in all department fields.
• Attend to repairs and maintenance in hotel premises and extensions.
• Assist with implementing the hotel’s preventative maintenance and repair log systems.
• Instruct colleagues on operation, safety procedures, and equipment cleaning.
• Record daily service work and costs, including labour hours and replacements.
• Repair and maintain guest room facilities, light facilities, furniture and equipment.
• Prioritize work in line with guest requests and management.
• Adhere to OH&S policies and safety procedures.
• Log security incidents and accidents as required.

Your day to day

voco® Orchard Singapore is seeking a dynamic and passionate M&E Technician to be part of the Engineering technician. As an M&E Technician, you will ensure that routine maintenance is performed in order for the Hotel's equipment to be operated with maximum efficiency and Hotel's facilities are well maintained, to achieve customer and guest satisfaction.

• Perform all routine preventative maintenance and curative maintenance.
• Order and monitor fuels, lubricants and repair parts.
• Maintain clean and tidy plant rooms.
• Maintain a level of broader knowledge which enables you to handle minor problems in all fields of the department.
• Attend to all types of repair and maintenance work in the Hotel premises, including any new additions / extensions to the Hotel or any other properties maintained by the Hotel.
• Assist with the implementation of the hotel’s preventative maintenance system and repair log system.
• Participate in instructing colleagues on the proper operation, safety procedures and cleaning of all equipment.
• Conduct and/or participate in staff meeting regarding proper operating and maintenance practices of equipment.
• Inform superior of the status of repairs and pending costs and indicate when it would be reasonable to consider replacement.
• Record daily service work, including maintaining individual replacement costs along with time/task labour hours cost.
• Repair and maintain guest room facilities, light facilities, furniture and equipment.
• Prioritize work in line with guest requests and management.
• Perform all routine preventative maintenance and curative maintenance.
• Order and monitor fuels, lubricants and repair parts.
• Maintain clean and tidy plant rooms.
• Maintain a level of broader knowledge which enables you to handle minor problems in all fields of the department.
• Attend to all types of repair and maintenance work in the Hotel premises, including any new additions/ extensions to the Hotel or any other properties maintained by the Hotel.
• Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by Chief Engineer or Asst. Engineer.
• Demonstrate Awareness of OH&S policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines.
• Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures.
• Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly.
• Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers.
• Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirements.

What we need from you
