Job summary

Ryan Specialty is seeking an Associate Transactional Liability Underwriter to support underwriters, prepare policy wording, and compile data for risk analysis. The candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Business/Admin/Finance or Risk Management and 1+ year in Financial or M&A underwriting, with CMAA/ARM preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or Risk Management required.
• 1+ year of work experience in Financial or M&A Underwriting.
• Licenses & Certifications: CMAA, ARM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports underwriters in managing files and reviewing documents, assists with quoting, and preparation of policy wording, non-binding indication letters and binder agreements.
• Compiles data and reporting on the transactional liability portfolio, generates insights for risk management and strategic decision-making.
• Reviews and drafts deal transaction documents, ensures accuracy and alignment with underwriting objectives for representations and warranties, tax liability and contingent liability insurance products.
• Collects underwriting information from sources to assess business sector, deal structure, jurisdiction, and indemnification obligations.
• Fosters relationships with brokers, lawyers, PE firms, and deal principals for successful deal execution.
• Communicates policy details and updates with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders to build trust.
• Liaises with internal and external legal counsel to facilitate transparent communication and resolution of legal matters.
• Participates in training to gain knowledge of underwriting principles and industry trends.
• Contributes to process improvements and future strategy for the underwriting team.
