Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) in New York City is seeking an Analyst to join the Transactional Liability team. This entry-level role supports underwriting on M&A deals involving Representations and Warranties Insurance and Tax Insurance, collaborating with senior team members to gain deep exposure to the insurance side of M&A.

You will work with brokers, lawyers, and clients to move deals forward, participate in industry events, and develop a foundation in corporate insurance.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of full-time, professional work experience in corporate settings (e.g., legal, insurance, finance, accounting)
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training or experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interest in M&A transactions, capital markets and related dynamics

Responsibilities

• Manage a steady stream of M&A deal opportunities involving transactional liability insurance.
• Support underwriters with research and analysis of company data and acquisition documents.
• Ensure deals move forward on deadlines through coordination with brokers and lawyers.
• Track M&A deal activity, policies bound/issued, and subjectivities using internal tools.
• Prepare quotes and policy documents for M&A insurance deals.
• Engage with insurance brokers, lawyers and clients to build lasting relationships.
• Attend industry events and gatherings.
